Audiences can be targeted based on the following data.

Delivering ads using audiences toggle
In addition to the default demographics on LINE Ads, you can create your own target audiences based on user data, including past website visits, past use of mobile apps, and added LINE official accounts.

You can manage your audiences from the Ad manager menu. For more information, see this Help article.

The following audience types can be created.

Web Traffic Audience
Insert a LINE tag into any website to send targeted ads to visitors of that site.

Mobile App Audience
Create audiences based on in-app events. You can also add detailed parameters and send targeted ads encouraging app re-engagement.

Upload IDFA/AAID
Create audiences from IDFA/AAID data.

LINE Official Account Audience
Deliver ads to "Valid friends" or "Friends blocking the account".

Lookalike Audience
Search for new users in LINE that are like the four audiences above and expand your targeting for ad delivery. You can set an "Audience size" between 1% and 15% of LINE users.

Check your review status

Checking your review status toggle
When you submit an ad, its ad content and media will be reviewed. Once both have been approved, you can start placing the ad.

To check the review status for media:
1. Click the menu icon at the top left of the Ad manager screen > Media under Shared library.
2. Check the Review status.

See below for details about each status type.

Under review
Your review is currently in progress. You can create other ads, but you can't deliver any ads that are under review.

Active
Your review has been completed and your ad was approved. You can start delivering the ad after configuring your settings.

Rejected
Your review has been completed, but your ad was not approved and cannot be delivered. To see the reason why it was rejected, move your mouse cursor over .

To check the review status for an ad:
1. On the Ad manager screen, click the Ad group or Ad tab to see a list of ads.
2. Move your mouse cursor over  next to the ad's status.

If no status appears, it means the review has been completed and the ad was approved. "Ad under review" means the review is still in progress. If the status is "Ad not approved," the reason your ad was rejected will appear.

Manage budgets

Campaign budgets toggle
When setting a campaign spending limit, there are two choices: Monthly budget and In total (for the entire campaign schedule). Your bill will depend on which budget type you select. Check the information below and set the spending limit that meets your needs.

Billing for Monthly and In total spending limits
If you have a campaign schedule from January 1 to 31 and a spending limit of JPY 100,000:
*1 You will be billed for the overbudget amount, but it will be subtracted in a later adjustment.

An amount over your spending limit may appear on LINE Ad Manager, but the amount that qualifies for adjustment will be subtracted later.

When you change your campaign schedule and budget, the changes will be applied immediately. If you want to change your campaign schedule and budget for the following month, you need to either create a new campaign with the settings applied for the next month, or change your current campaign period and budget when the next month arrives.

There may be situations where you are billed after a campaign has ended. In such cases, you will be billed for the overbudget amount, but it will be adjusted later on. For any amount that does not go over your campaign budget, you will be charged normally.

Bidding methods and bid amounts toggle
You can bid manually or use auto-bidding to meet your ad delivery objectives.

Manual bidding
Enter the maximum Cost per click (CPC) and Cost per impression (CPM) yourself.

Auto-bidding
The LINE Ads system will automatically adjust bid amounts to match your campaign and ad delivery objectives.

We recommend using auto-bidding for your ads. The settings you can configure depend on which campaign objective you set.

When you choose auto-bidding, "Learning" will appear next to the ad group on the Ad manager screen. We suggest not making frequent changes while this status appears so the system can finish learning.

Auto-bidding optimization will occur for each ad group. It takes around 40 events for an ad group to finish learning.

The number of events has more of an effect on learning than your delivery schedule. If there haven't been enough events to use for learning, auto-bidding will be carried out using information from the ad account that the relevant ad group belongs to, or similar information from other ads.
