Stickers

Issues with Stickers

I can't download or use stickers toggle
If you are having trouble downloading or using stickers, please try the following:

1. Restart your device.
2. Update the LINE app from the URL below:
3. Check your network connection.
4. Check the remaining storage space on your device.
5. Download the stickers again.
To delete and re-download stickers
   a. Go to More > Settings > Stickers > Sticker Options
   b. Tap Remove next to the sticker > OK.
   c. Go back to Stickers.
   d. Tap Purchase History > select the stickers in question, then tap Download.

If the issue persists after trying the steps above, please contact us using the Problem Report Form.

1. Go to More > Sticker Shop.
2. Tap the stickers you wish to send.
3. Tap Send as a Gift.
4. Select a friend to send them to.
5. Tap Purchase this Gift to confirm.

You can rearrange and delete stickers from Sticker Options.

1. Go to More > Settings > Stickers.
2. Tap Sticker Options.

Downloading stickers toggle
If you carry over your LINE account or reinstall the app, you will need to download your stickers again using the steps below: 

1. Go to More > Settings > Stickers.
2. Tap My Stickers.
3. Tap Download All at the bottom, or tap the download icon next to each sticker set.

Can stickers purchased on a smartphone be used on the PC version of LINE? toggle
Yes, once you download a set of stickers on the smartphone version of LINE, you will also be able to use it on the PC and iPad versions.

Themes

Issues with Themes

I can't download or use themes toggle
Themes are only supported on LINE versions 4.0.0 and later for Android and iOS. You cannot use themes on versions of LINE earlier than 4.0.0 or on other devices, such as BlackBerry and Windows Phones.

If you are having trouble downloading or using themes after updating the app, please try the following: 

1. Restart your device.
2. Update your LINE app from the URL below: 
3. Check your network connection.
4. Check the remaining storage space on your device.
5. Change your theme back to Original and download the theme again.
To delete and re-download themes
   a. Go to More > Settings > Themes > My Themes > Edit.
   b. Tap Remove.
   c. Go back to My Themes.
   d. Download the theme again.
   e. Tap Apply.

If the issue persists after trying the steps above, please contact us using the Problem Report Form.

Purchasing themes toggle
To purchase themes, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to More > Theme Shop.
2. Tap the theme you wish to purchase.
3. Tap Purchase.

If I purchase a theme, will I also get the stickers that appear in the preview images? toggle

The stickers that appear in the theme preview images are not sold as a set.

If you wish to use those stickers, please purchase them from the Sticker Shop in the LINE app or on LINE STORE.

Purchasing LINE Coins toggle

3. Tap the pack of Coins you wish to purchase.

How LINE Points are automatically exchanged for Coins toggle
If you are short Coins when trying to buy stickers or themes, but have enough Points to make the purchase, they will be automatically exchanged for Coins.

The following versions of LINE will convert the Points you have saved up automatically.

• iOS
LINE version 6.8.5 and later

• Android
LINE version 6.8.2 and later

You can check your Coin balance from your smartphone here.

The amount that appears under My Coins will include your LINE Points converted to Coins.

The exchange rate may differ depending on the country you are using LINE in. You can view the various rates here.

Your balance will appear under My Coins as in the following examples (For countries where 1 Coin = 2 Points):
• If you have 60 Coins and 80 Points, your balance will be 100
• If you have 10 Coins and 100 Points, your balance will be 60
• If you have 0 Coins and 100 Points, your balance will be 50
• If you have 0 Coins and 90 Points, your balance will be 45

There are two ways to send stickers and themes as gifts:

Using the LINE STORE


Note
- You cannot send Coins as a gift.
- For iOS users, gifts can only be sent through LINE STORE.

I can't send an item as a gift toggle
If the Send as a Gift button does not appear for the item you select, it means that sticker set or theme cannot be sent as a gift. You will also be unable to send an item as a gift if any of the following apply to the person you wish to send it to:

- The version of the LINE app they are using does not support the item you wish to send.
- They have blocked you.
- They are using a feature phone (a mobile phone that is not a smartphone).
- Their account was registered using a Facebook account for verification.
Note: In this case, the person can receive gifts if they verify their account with a phone number.

Using stickers received as gifts toggle
To use stickers received as a gift, please see the following steps: 

1. Go to More > Settings > Stickers.
2. Tap Gift Box.
3. Tap the stickers you received.
4. Download the stickers.

You can receive gifts on Android versions 2.2.0 and later and iOS versions 3.4.0 and later. Please update your OS if necessary before checking your Gift Box.

Do gifted stickers expire? toggle
Some sticker sets are only valid for a limited time. The validity period for those stickers will start to count down from the day they are downloaded.

Note: If the above mentioned stickers are sent as a gift, their validity period will start to count down after 16 days from the day they were received.

Coins used to purchase stickers and themes can be purchased from Settings > Coins > Charge.

Issues when making purchase

Unable to make purchase

I can't purchase some stickers or themes toggle
You may be unable to purchase stickers and themes in the following cases:

1. The sticker set or theme is only available for a limited period.
You will not be able to purchase it after the period has expired.

2. The sticker set or theme is not available.
Stickers and themes sometimes go on sale at different times in the App Store and Google Play. Additionally, some stickers and themes are only available from certain app stores (the App Store, Google Play) or on LINE STORE.

3. The payment method is not accepted
Google Play payments are not supported in some countries and regions, and on some devices.
In this case, you will not be able to purchase any items from the Sticker and Theme Shops.

4. Some stickers are only available in certain countries.
If the sticker set’s details page says “Not on Sale,” or if you cannot find the set in the Sticker Shop, that means you cannot purchase or download it.

I cannot purchase Coins toggle

LINE Coin purchases are made through Google and Apple. If you see any errors or are unsure of passwords that you are required to enter when making a purchase, please contact Google or Apple directly.

Duplicate payment/cancelation

Duplicate payments toggle
If you were charged for the same purchase multiple times, we can check your purchase history and cancel the duplicate payments. However, if you have already used the Coins or Credit, we may not be able to do so.

Please inquire below regarding the item you purchased.


Note: If you made your purchase through Apple, we cannot check the purchase history. In this case, please contact Apple directly.

When purchasing packs of 500 Coins or more, the bonus Coins are already included in the total number of Coins.

50 Coins
100 Coins
200 Coins
500 Coins (Includes 100 bonus Coins)
800 Coins (Includes 200 bonus Coins)
1,600 Coins (Includes 400 bonus Coins)
3,300 Coins (Includes 900 bonus Coins)

Note: If you purchase a pack of 500 Coins, you are paying for 400 Coins and get 100 bonus Coins for free.

You can see your bonus Coin balance on the Coin management page.

I didn't receive Coins charged on LINE STORE toggle
The LINE Credit you can charge on LINE STORE is a different currency from LINE Coins. LINE Credit can only be used to purchase items on LINE STORE.

Note: You cannot combine LINE Credit with LINE Coins, or use it to purchase items inside LINE or its family apps. Please use your LINE Credit on LINE STORE.

Missing Coins, Stickers, etc.

All my items (Coins, stickers, etc.) are missing after changing to a new device toggle
If you are unable to use your paid items after changing devices, please try the following.

To download your stickers:
1. Tap More > Settings.
2. Tap Stickers > My Stickers > Download All.

To download your themes:
1. Tap More > Settings.
2. Tap Themes > My Themes.

To check your Coin balance:
1. Tap More > Settings > Coins.

Note: You cannot carry over your Coin balance to a device with a different OS (e.g. iPhone to Android and vice versa).

If you are unable to resolve your issue with the above, it is possible that your account was not carried over successfully.

If your account has not been carried over successfully, the following will not be carried over:

-Paid item purchase history
-Coin balance
-Phone number registered to LINE
-Friends and Groups list
-Chat history
-Registered data for linked apps

Restoring missing items (Coins, stickers, etc.) toggle
If you were unsuccessful in carrying over your account, we may be able to restore your purchased items.

Items that can be restored:
- The right to use your LINE stickers and themes (including those received as gifts)
- Purchase history and Coin balance
Note: Coins cannot be carried over between different OSes, such as from iPhone to Android and vice versa.
- Credit balance charged from LINE STORE

Please apply to restore your items via the link below after installing the LINE app and creating an account.
