Activating your card

How do I activate my LINE Pay Card? toggle
If you have a physical LINE Pay card, you can activate it in LINE Pay. After it's been activated, you can start using your card with money you've added to your LINE Pay balance.

If you already have a virtual card, you will be restricted from using it to make payments online until you have activated your LINE Pay card.

To have the restriction temporarily removed, tap the card number at the top of the LINE Pay main menu and switch For Online Use ON. This will remove the restriction for one hour, after which it will automatically be applied again.
Note: If you have not set a LINE Pay passcode, you will need to set one.

1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Activate LINE Pay Card.
2. Enter the last three digits of the お客様番号 (customer number) on the back of your LINE Pay card.

If you applied for your card in or before November 2018, the steps included with the card will say to enter the 3-digit number on the back of the card; however, please disregard these instructions and follow the onscreen guidance.

Registering a LINE Pay card purchased at a store to your LINE Pay account toggle
You can register a LINE Pay card to your LINE Pay account with any of the following methods.
Note: If you have not set a LINE Pay passcode, you will need to set one.

• Scan the QR code enclosed with the LINE Pay card and follow the on-screen guidance.
• Access this link from your smartphone, or go to LINE Pay and tap Settings > LINE Pay Card > Activate Card, then follow the on-screen guidance to register your card.

You cannot activate more than 5 LINE Pay cards purchased at a store a month.
Note: The number of cards you can activate will reset on the 1st of every month.

If you have already been using a LINE Pay card and activate another one that you purchased, you can choose either of the following options:

• Continue using your current LINE Pay card
• Make your current LINE Pay card invalid and change to another LINE Pay card you purchased
Note: You can only use one LINE Pay card at a time.

Why can't I activate the LINE Pay card I purchased? toggle
You will not be able to activate your LINE Pay card in any of the following cases:

• The card was activated on another LINE Pay account.
• Six months have passed since you purchased your card, but you have not activated it.
• Your LINE Pay account is deactivated.
Note: To reactivate your account, please see here.
• You have already activated 5 LINE Pay cards in a month.

You cannot activate more than 5 LINE Pay cards purchased at a store a month. The number of cards you can activate will reset on the 1st of every month.
