Applying for a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card

The Visa LINE Pay prepaid card is a virtual prepaid card for use at online Visa merchants. Payments are made with the money that you add to your LINE Pay balance, so you don't have to worry about overdrafts.

By adding your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay, you can make various online payments, Visa contactless payments at physical stores, and iD payments at stores that accept them.

To apply for a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card:
1. Open LINE and tap the Wallet tab > LINE Pay > Card info from the LINE Pay main menu.
2. Under Visa LINE Pay prepaid card, tap Create card.
3. Tap Create a virtual card.
4. Tap OK on the pop-up about the Terms and Conditions of Use.
5. Read the Visa LINE Pay prepaid card Terms and Conditions of Use, check the bubble, and tap Agree to Terms.
6. Enter your LINE Pay passcode.

For those who have signed up for LINE Pay from May 2024, a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card may have been issued at the time of sign-up. You can check your issued card details (e.g. card number) from Card info on the LINE Pay main menu.

You can create a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card as long as you have a LINE account that is registered with a valid Japanese mobile phone number.
