Adding cards to Google Pay

You can use Google Pay (to make iD payments) on devices running:

• Android OS version 5.0 or later.

• The Osaifu-Keitai app (version 6.1.5 or higher).

Note: Osaifu-Keitai (おサイフケータイ) is a registered trademark of NTT DOCOMO, INC.

To use Google Pay, you also need to download and install version 11.1 or later of the LINE app on your device.

If you're using LINE Pay and have one of the following cards, you can add your card to Google Pay even if you haven't subscribed for the iD payment service.

• Visa LINE Pay credit card

• Visa LINE Pay credit card (P+)

• Visa LINE Pay prepaid card

The first card you add to Google Pay becomes your default card. To reset or confirm your default card, follow the steps below.
Note: You'll need to install the Google Wallet app.

1. Open the Google Wallet app.
2. Tap Payment at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap the payment method you want to make your default.
4. Tap Make default.

If you can't add your card to Google Pay (e.g. you see an error), check the information in the following sections.

Adding your card to Google Pay

A message saying you can't complete setup for contactless payment appears

Check if there's still information for a card you deleted in the past. If there's still information for a deleted card, delete it from Google Pay and then add your new card.

If you're trying to add a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card from anywhere other than the LINE app, you won't be able to do so. You can only add your card from the LINE app. For information about adding your card to Google Pay, see the following Help article.

A message saying you're unable to register your current card appears

Try registering your card again after updating the LINE app to the latest version.

Also, you may temporarily be unable to add your card if you fail to add it multiple times in a row. If this is the case, try again after waiting at least one day, or contact Google for assistance.

You need to register Google Pay once again on your new Android device.

Note: If you change to a device running a different OS (such as an iPhone), you will not be able to use Google Pay.
