If you've forgotten your passcode, you can reset it by following the steps below after updating the LINE app to the latest version.

1. Tap Forgot your passcode? above the numeric keypad.

2. Follow the onscreen guidance to reset your passcode.

Note: The methods available to verify your identity will differ depending on the status of your registration.

If you don't see "Forgot your passcode?" or can't reset your passcode for any other reason, see the following Help article.

An issue occurred when I tried to reset my passcode

If you use your registered LINE Pay information to verify your identity, you can use one of the following verification methods.

Note: Tap the verification method you want to use and enter the required information in the verification form.

Verification via text message sent to your registered phone number

Tap Verification code via text and enter the verification code that's sent to your phone number registered with LINE Pay. If you don't know the phone number registered to your LINE Pay account or can't use it, change the phone number registered to your LINE account to one that can receive text messages.

Verification via entering your registered credit card information

Note: If you're using a credit card, 24 hours need to have passed since it was registered as your payment method.

You can also have questions answered via chat message by adding the LINE Pay Inquiry official account (LINE Payお問い合わせ公式アカウント) as a friend on LINE. You can add the official account as a friend from this link.

Note: Assistance via chat message is only available in Japanese.

If you can't reset your passcode by following the steps in the following Help article, see the information below.

Resetting your passcode if you forgot it

If the screen to delete your LINE Pay account appears instead of the "Forgot your passcode?" option, it means your LINE Pay account hasn't been registered with the information required for identity verification. This means you cannot reset your LINE Pay passcode for security reasons.

If you want to delete your LINE Pay account, tap Delete account to do so.

Note:

- Deleting your LINE Pay account will erase all of your account information, including your LINE Pay balance, LINE Pay Light balance, and purchase history.

- LINE Pay accounts can no longer be created as of November 29, 2024. If you delete your LINE Pay account, you cannot create another one.

- Deleting your LINE Pay account will not affect your LINE account or Points.

Please contact Customer Care if you encounter any of the following issues.

• Your LINE Pay account is restricted for entering the wrong information five or more times when trying to verify your identity.

• You don't know or can't use the phone number registered to LINE Pay.

• You can't reset your passcode after following the onscreen guidance.

• The screen to delete your account appears, but you want to continue using the account without deleting it.

You can also receive simple support on LINE by adding the LINE Pay inquiry (LINE Payお問い合わせ) official account as a friend and contacting it.

Note: Support with this official account is only offered in Japanese, so be sure to enter the message in Japanese.
