Important: The features for sending and transferring money among friends on LINE Pay ended on October 22, 2024.
See the following important points.
- If your friend hasn't updated their LINE app to the latest version, the money won't appear in their balance after receiving it with their LINE Pay Light balance.
- If your friend hasn't signed up for LINE Pay, the transfer will be completed once they do.
Note: LINE Pay accounts can no longer be created as of November 29, 2024.
- If your friend doesn't sign up for LINE Pay within seven days of you sending them money, the transfer will be canceled.
Note: When a transfer is canceled, the amount is returned to your LINE Pay balance or LINE Pay Light balance.
- With LINE Pay, there are limits to the amount of money you can spend, as well as send, transfer, or withdraw per day from your LINE Pay balance and LINE Pay Light balance.

Important: The features for sending and transferring money among friends on LINE Pay ended on October 22, 2024.
When you send money from your LINE Pay balance or LINE Pay Light balance to a friend who hasn't signed up for LINE Pay, the amount you send will appear in their balance after they join LINE Pay.
Note: LINE Pay accounts can no longer be created as of November 29, 2024.
If they don't join LINE Pay within seven days after the money is sent, the transaction will be canceled, and the money will be returned to your LINE Pay balance or LINE Pay Light balance.
Note: When you send money to a friend that includes money from your LINE Pay balance with a LINE Cash account, the money is automatically added to and sent from your LINE Pay Light balance, so the full amount will be returned to your LINE Pay Light balance.

Important: The features for sending and transferring money among friends on LINE Pay ended on October 22, 2024.
If you have a LINE Pay account:
Money will be added to your balance immediately after someone sends it to you from their LINE Pay balance or LINE Pay Light balance. To confirm a transaction, go to the LINE Pay main menu and tap Settings > Transfer history.
If you don't have a LINE Pay account:
You need to sign up for LINE Pay to receive money sent from their balance.
Note: LINE Pay accounts can no longer be created as of November 29, 2024. If you haven't signed up for LINE Pay within seven days of receiving money from your friend's balance, you will be unable to receive it to a LINE Pay or LINE Pay Light balance.

If you request money from a friend on LINE, the amount will be deposited in your LINE Pay balance or LINE Pay Light balance when they send you the money.
Important: The features for sending and transferring money among friends on LINE Pay ended on October 22, 2024.
Wire transfers
After you complete a transaction on your smartphone, the transfer will be processed immediately. However the deposit may be received by the bank on the following business day if:
• It's 3 pm or later on a weekday; it's a Saturday, Sunday, or a national holiday; or it's the year-end and New Year holidays.
• It's outside of the bank's processing hours.
• The bank's system is undergoing maintenance.
• The money is not immediately deposited due to the status of the bank account.
Check again to see if the money was deposited the following business day.
Note: "Following business day" refers to the bank's business day, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and the year-end/New Year holidays, and not necessarily the following day.
For example, if you made a transfer on Saturday but cannot confirm if the money was deposited to the recipient's account, you need to check on the following business day, which is Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday).
Please contact your bank for details.

The Pay bill feature has a limit of up to JPY 300,000 per tax or other government fee payment (not including utility bills) or up to JPY 49,999 per other bill payment. There is no per month limit to the feature.

Tapping an amount shown as a link lets you send that amount to a friend with LINE Pay.
When you send numbers with a unit of currency in a 1-on-1 or group chat, the amount in the text automatically becomes a link.
Examples of text that becomes a link:
• 500円
• ¥500
• 500yen
Note: This feature works with amounts between JPY 1 and JPY 100,000.
To turn this feature off:
1. From the Home tab in LINE, tap Settings > Chats.
2. Turn OFF Show prices in text as links.
Note: The process for changing text to links is done mechanically on your device. Your chats are not obtained or viewed by LINE.
