Wire transfers
If you request money from a friend on LINE, the amount will be deposited in your LINE Pay balance or LINE Pay Light balance when they send you the money.
Important: The features for sending and transferring money among friends on LINE Pay ended on October 22, 2024.
Wire transfers
After you complete a transaction on your smartphone, the transfer will be processed immediately. However the deposit may be received by the bank on the following business day if:
• It's 3 pm or later on a weekday; it's a Saturday, Sunday, or a national holiday; or it's the year-end and New Year holidays.
• It's outside of the bank's processing hours.
• The bank's system is undergoing maintenance.
• The money is not immediately deposited due to the status of the bank account.
Check again to see if the money was deposited the following business day.
Note: "Following business day" refers to the bank's business day, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and the year-end/New Year holidays, and not necessarily the following day.
For example, if you made a transfer on Saturday but cannot confirm if the money was deposited to the recipient's account, you need to check on the following business day, which is Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday).

Note: As of January 6, 2025, applications for LINE Pay identity verification are no longer being accepted. For this reason, you can no longer convert your LINE Cash account to a LINE Money account.
You can make a wire transfer to a bank designated by you or the recipient by following the steps below.
Note: Some labels may differ depending on the device you're using and your version of the LINE app.
To make a wire transfer to a bank of your designation:
1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Bank transfer.
2. Under Transfer to bank account, tap Bank transfer.
3. At the top of the screen, tap the Account number tab.
4. Enter the name registered to the recipient’s account (in full-width katakana characters), as well as the bank name, account type, account number, and your name, then tap Next.
5. Enter the amount you want to transfer, then tap OK.
6. Tap Continue, check the transfer information, then tap OK.
7. Enter your LINE Pay passcode.
8. If necessary, share a screenshot via Share, or tap Close.
Note: If you have an iOS device, this feature requires iOS 15.0 or later.
To make a wire transfer to a bank of the recipient's designation:
1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Bank transfer.
2. Tap Text message, email.
3. Enter the recipient's account name (in full-width katakana characters), phone number or email address, and your name, then tap Next.
4. Enter the amount you want to transfer, then tap OK.
5. Tap Continue, check the transfer information, then tap OK.
6. Enter your LINE Pay passcode.
7. If necessary, share a screenshot via Share, or tap Close.
The recipient will get a text message from the phone number "03-4405-6034" or an email from the address "linepay_do_not_reply@line.me".
They can designate a bank after they complete one-time password authentication via the text message or email.
Note: If one-time password authentication fails multiple times, the wire transfer will be canceled.
To check the history or status of your wire transfers:
1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Bank transfer.
2. Tap Recent usage.
Note: You need to update LINE to version 10.2 or later to make wire transfers.

Additionally, please check if any of the following situations apply to you.
• You've exceeded the daily transfer limit.
• The wire transfer was made outside of the bank's business hours.
• The recipient's bank account cannot be used.
• You're trying to make a transfer to a bank outside of Japan.
• The phone number or email address was not entered correctly.
• The recipient's bank account information was not entered correctly.

The Pay bill feature has a limit of up to JPY 300,000 per tax or other government fee payment (not including utility bills) or up to JPY 49,999 per other bill payment. There is no per month limit to the feature.
