Notification Settings

General LINE notification settings

To configure your general notification settings:

1. Tap Settings > Notifications.

2. Turn Notifications ON.

3. Turn In-app sounds or any of the other settings ON or OFF as needed.

To configure your settings for incoming voice call notifications:

1. Tap Settings > Calls.

2. Turn Allow voice calls ON or OFF.

To configure your settings for chat notifications:

1. Tap the menu icon at the top of the chat screen.

2. Tap Mute or Unmute.

Device notification settings

Pop-up notification settings

You can change your pop-up notification settings by following the steps below.

To show/hide message previews in pop-up notifications:

1. Tap Settings > Notifications.

2. Turn the Message previews setting ON or OFF.

Note: The profile icons of users that send you messages will appear in pop-up notifications on iPadOS 15 or later with LINE version 11.18.0 or later. Turn Show profile icons off to hide user profile icons in pop-up messages.

1. On your device, tap Settings > Notifications.

2. Tap LINE in your list of apps.

Temporarily disabling notifications

To temporarily disable notifications, please follow the steps below.

1. Tap the settings icon > Notifications.

2. Tap Mute, then select Mute For 1 Hour or Mute Until 8 AM.

Home Notifications

By tapping Notifications (the bell icon) at the top of the Home tab, you can see all of the updates to your Home.

You can configure the types of notifications you receive by tapping the settings icon at the top of the Notifications screen.

In Notifications, you can check the following information.

Birthday updates

• Birthday messages from LINE

• Birthday cards and balloons from friends

• Birthday card likes

Friend updates

• Friends you've added/friends who have added you

• New friend recommendations

• Friends with birthdays

Updates about Favorited friends

• Changed display names

• New profile photos/profile cover photos

• Updated status messages

Note: To add someone to your Favorites, tap the star icon on their profile screen.

Group updates

• Group invites

• Groups you're in that all of the members have joined

• Groups you're in that new members have joined

• Likes and comments on note posts

Configuring chat mention notifications

To turn notifications for chat mentions on or off:

1. Tap Settings > Notifications.

2. Turn Notifications ON.

3. Turn Mentions ON or OFF.

Note: If this setting is turned on, you'll be notified whenever you're mentioned in a chat, even if chat notifications are turned off.
