How do I share photo?

If you find a photo that you would like to share while viewing them using the various methods available, tap Share to share the selected photos.

Tapping Share on the Timeline, Area, or My Toss will allow you to select all the photos in that album at once. You can also drag and drop photos that you want to share individually. All you need to do is to select the friends to share with.

There may be some delay in transmission due to network issues or when sharing multiple photos or videos.

Why did the shared albums disappear after deleting and reinstalling the app?

If only your nickname was registered without a LINE account, all shared information (sent/received albums, Toss friends and recently sent friends) will also be deleted upon deleting LINE Toss app. Please note that deleted information cannot be restored.

If you are using the Toss app after logging in via LINE, all shared information will remain unchanged when you log in again with the same LINE account after deleting and reinstalling the app.

Can I delete the photos?

You can delete the photos by tapping 'Trash' button in individual photo view.

Android 4.4 (KitKat) and above

- You cannot delete photos saved to your SD card.

Android 4.3 and lower

- Photos saved to your device and SD card can be normally deleted.

Can I cancel sharing an album?

If you tap the View More icon located at the top of the album that you want to stop sharing on the My Toss page where you can view your share history, an Unshare button will appear. Tap Unshare to cancel sharing.

※ If you tap Delete instead of Unshare, only the share history will be deleted and the friends you have shared the album with can continue to view it.

Why am I not receiving sharing messages from LINE?

Sharing messages will not be sent properly if your LINE settings are as shown below.

1. More > Settings > Privacy > Filter Messages ON: Shared messages that are sent by non-friends cannot be received.

2. More > Settings > Accounts > Authorized Apps > Receive Messages OFF: Shared messages cannot be received if LINE Toss is not connected.

3. More > Settings > Friends > Blocked Users: Shared messages that are sent by blocked users cannot be received.

Change your LINE settings or unblock the user to receive sharing messages.

Why is there nothing visible in the Area view?

The Area feature shows photos taken nearby, regardless of the date when the photo was taken.

However, if you deactivate the GPS tagging (location services) option of your smartphone camera, the location where your photo was taken cannot be identified, and no information will be shown.

How to activate GPS tagging (Location Services) for your smartphone camera

- Android (Samsung device): Camera > Settings > GPS tag > On

- iOS: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On

Where are my photos from LINE Toss saved?

Photos visible on LINE Toss are the ones that are saved in your smartphone album.

LINE Toss does NOT save the photos in your smartphone album anywhere else without your permission.

However the photos that you choose to share are stored separately and CAN be viewed and downloaded by the friends that you choose to share them with.

Is data used when sharing or downloading photos?

LINE Toss enables you to share and download photos optimized for your smartphone. This ensures that only the minimal amount of data is used.

However, data charges could be imposed depending on the amount of data used when you are on a 3G or LTE network.

We recommend using Wi-Fi when sharing or downloading numerous photos or playing large video files.

Can I move info from my old phone to my new one?

If you are using the app by logging in with your LINE account, you can carry over sharing information (sent/received albums, Toss friends and recently sent friends).

However, if you only registered a nickname without a LINE account, you will not be able to carry over the sharing information.

Can I use LINE Toss without a LINE account?

LINE Toss is a service that lets you enjoy photos saved on your smartphone in various ways and share them with your friends. If you log in via LINE, you can easily share photos with your LINE friends (including groups) via LINE messages.

Can I use LINE Toss if I delete my LINE account?

You can view photos in the Timeline and Location views even after you delete your LINE account. However, a LINE account is required to share photos to LINE friends, since you have to log in with LINE to do so.

Shared information (sent and received albums, Toss friends, recently sent friends, etc.) that is stored in LINE Toss will be deleted once you delete your LINE account. Deleted accounts and information cannot be restored.

What is a Toss friend?

If you share photos to friends in your contact list, a sharing message will be delivered to the friend via SMS. If the recipient logs in to LINE Toss, you will become Toss friends with the friend.

Once you become Toss friends, you will be able to send and receive sharing messages easily with LINE Toss push notifications.

Can photos only be shared with LINE friends?

You can share photos not only with your LINE friends but also with friends in your contact list.

If you share photos to a friend in your contact list, the friend will receive an SMS with a sharing URL which is valid for 3 days. (If the recipient fails to access the sharing URL within 3 days, they will no longer be able to view the shared photo.)

Please note that since anyone who finds out about the sharing URL through other means (for instance, if the friend who initially received the URL copied and sent the URL to a third person) will also be able to view the shared photo, we ask you to exercise caution when it comes to sharing photos including personal information.

If you share photos to LINE friends, the sharing message will be safely sent via LINE and is only viewable by the receiver.

If friends in your contact list seem to be invisible in the friend selection page, please change your settings from the LINE Toss app by going to Settings > Display contact > Display all contacts > ON.

Why did the name of the friend I shared with change?

When sharing photos to a friend in your contacts list, the friend will become your Toss friend if they log in to LINE Toss via the sharing URL within 3 days. The name of the friend will be replaced with their Toss nickname, not the name in your contact list.

If the friend fails to log in to LINE toss within 3 days after sharing the URL, the friend will be deleted from the shared friends list.

If a person who did not directly receive the sharing URL logs in to LINE Toss with the sharing message (share URL), you will also become Toss friends with that person and their Toss nickname will be added to the shared friends list.

How should I share photos with multiple LINE friends?

There are 2 ways:

1. If there is already a group created, select a group in which the desired recipients are included and a sharing message will be sent to the group chat room.

2. If no group exists, you can select multiple LINE friends when selecting friends to share the photos with. A sharing message will be sent to the chat room of each friend.

If there are members with whom you frequently share photos, create a group with the members. You can create the group in the LINE app as well.
