Broadcasts
If you're signed in to your LINE account, you can make live broadcasts by following the steps below.
1. Tap the Broadcast button at the bottom center of the screen.
2. Edit the relevant items and tap LIVE to start the broadcast.
Before you can start a broadcast, you need to follow the steps below to create a channel (if you haven't already).
1. Tap My Page (the silhouette icon) at the bottom right of the screen.
2. Tap "+" in the center of the screen.
3. Edit the relevant items and tap Save.
To make radio broadcasts:
1. Tap the Broadcast button at the bottom center of the screen.
2. Tap the mic icon at the top of the broadcast screen.
3. Choose the image you want to appear during radio mode, then tap Save.
4. Tap LIVE and start broadcasting.
Note: You can't use stickers or filters when broadcasting in radio mode.
Unfortunately, broadcasts can't be limited to your followers and LINE friends. However, if you set a broadcast as Unlisted it won't appear in search results or the New tab, and only people that know the link to to that broadcast will be able to view it.
If your bandwidth is restricted, please use a Wi-Fi connection to make your broadcast. Depending on your network connection, you may not have a strong signal if you’re using a mobile Wi-Fi router. If this is the case, we recommend using a Wi-Fi network with a fixed router.
You can use songs registered with JASRAC and NexTone by entering the work codes for the songs you used on the screen that appears after you have finished your broadcast.
If you enter song codes, please take care to ensure the following cases do not apply:
- The songs are not registered with JASRAC or NexTone.
- The songs registered with JASRAC or NexTone are not available for use in "interactive broadcasts."
In the above cases, you must get permission from the holder of the rights to the songs you wish to use. Please understand that getting permission to use songs is your own responsibility.
Use of songs registered with JASRAC and NexTone are limited to singing or performing the song yourself. If you use the actual music track recorded on a CD, DVD, or a music file, you must also get permission from the holder of the master license, such as the record label that produced it.
If you use licensed music in your broadcast it is your own responsibility. Please get permission beforehand.
If you wish to use another person's music, you must get permission from the right holder before using it. However, some songs registered with JASRAC and NexTone may be available to use. Please see here for details.
In addition, music in the public domain, or free music which does not require permission from the right holder, may be used for songs, performances, background music, etc. You may also use music which you hold the rights to, such as your own songs.
Changing your privacy setting to Unlisted will prevent your broadcasts from appearing in search results and under the New tab. Only people that know the link to these broadcasts can view them.
This setting lets you test broadcasts without alerting anyone, or enjoy streaming with only the friends who know the broadcast link.
From version 2.6.0, tags became categories.
Since only one category can be configured, editing one tag in a multi-tagged broadcast will turn that tag into a category, automatically deleting the other tags.
Please understand that once a tag has been deleted, it cannot be edited.
Setting broadcasts as Unlisted will prevent them from appearing in search results and on the New tab. Only people that know the link to these broadcasts can view them.
This feature lets you test broadcasts without alerting anyone, or enjoy broadcasts just with friends who know the link.
The challenge feature lets broadcasters set a certain number of cheer points as a goal to reach. After a challenge has been created, a challenge meter appears in your broadcast to keep track of its progress.
Set a challenge to add some extra excitement to your broadcasts, and work towards reaching the goal together with your viewers.
Challenge examples:
• Will upload a comedy video when the meter fills up!
• Guitar solo at 10,000 points.
• Will freestyle rap if the goal is reached!
Important:
- Promising money or material rewards to viewers in exchange for gift items or hearts is prohibited.
- LINE will take any appropriate measures it deems necessary, such as suspension of users' LINE LIVE accounts, if it discovers any prohibited acts.
There are two ways to create a challenge.
From the broadcast screen:
1. Tap the broadcast button at the bottom center of the screen.
2. Tap Challenge in the center of the broadcast screen.
Note: This option will not appear if you've already created and released a challenge on the same channel.
3. Tap New Challenge.
