Is the Webtoon app free? toggle
The Webtoon app is free to download and use. New episodes of Featured Webtoons are uploaded weekly. All webtoons are free to read. You can also purchase Coins to gain “Fast Pass” access to the latest episodes of select webtoon series.

※ What is “Fast Pass” Access?
A “Fast Pass” allows you to read the latest episodes for select ongoing series earlier than their regular release date. Please look for webtoon episodes that display the “Fast Pass” icon. You can use coins to gain “Fast Pass” access to these episodes. If you don’t want to purchase and/or use your Coins, don’t worry! All “Fast Pass” episodes become free after a set period of time upon their regular release.

Which devices does the the Webtoon app work on? toggle
The Webtoon app is available on the Apple App Store and on the Google Play Store. The mobile website is also available on any web browser. You can download episodes with the app on mobile devices so you can read webtoons anywhere.
Depending on your device and network connection, the performance of the app may vary. 
As a heads up, data rates may apply depending on your usage. 
Our Terms of Use has more details.

Having trouble using the app or experiencing errors? toggle
If you experience app performance issues such as crashes or image loading failures, please follow the instructions below. 

1. Clear cache.
- Tap ‘MORE’ on the bottom right of the home screen, then scrolling down to the 
‘SETTINGS> NOTIFICATIONS’ menu. Make sure you close other apps before running the app.

2. Check your network connection.
- Webtoon pages may not open or start properly when your network connection is unstable. Please contact your network service provider if you are unable to connect to your network.

3. Delete and reinstall the app.
- If clearing the cache does not resolve the issue, we recommend that you reinstall our app. If you continue to experience this error after reinstalling the app, please contact LINE WEBTOON Customer Care for further assistance.

I can’t log in using my social media account. toggle

You need to log in to your social media account and authorize permissions for the Webtoon app.

Please make sure you enter the correct username and password associated with your social media account.

A pop-up appeared asking me to confirm my email address and password. toggle
Make sure that you have signed up to LINE WEBTOON using your email address. If you logged in previously with your social media account, tap the appropriate social media button on the bottom of the login screen.
Your Webtoon account information is case-sensitive. The characters in your username and password must match exactly in order to sign in.

How do I reset my password? toggle
1. If you signed up using your email address: 
- Click ‘Forgot Password?’ on the login screen
- Type your email address, click ‘Send’, then follow the on-screen instructions
2. If you logged in previously using your social media account (Facebook, Twitter, Google, LINE):
- You cannot reset your password for your social media account on Webtoon.
- Please reset or change your password directly on the respective social media platform.

How do I delete my account? toggle
You can delete your account from either the desktop or mobile website.
1. PC : Go to the 'Account' menu after login > Click 'Do you want to delete your account?' on the botton of the screen
2. Mobile Web : Go to the Settings > Account after login and click "Delete Account"  on the screen.


※ Once you delete your account, your account profile as well as all subscription history will be 
deleted permanently ​and become unrecoverable. 
※ Your comments will not be deleted automatically. Please go to MY > 
Comments to delete any comments before deleting your account.
※ If you have published any series on Discover, you need to delete them first in order to 
delete your account.

Our password recovery email can occasionally end up in your spam folder. First, please check your spam folder. If you do not see the email there, please go to your email settings and make sure that the webtoons.com and webtoonscorp.com domains haven't been blocked from sending you emails.

How to use

How do I download Webtoon episodes? toggle
The Webtoon App allows you to download Featured Webtoons and read your favorite comics on-the-go without a network connection.
Follow these easy steps to download episodes:
1. Select a Featured Webtoon.
2. Tap the (↓) button on the top right corner of the episode list,or tap the side menu (︙) on the top right corner of an episode.
3. Choose the episodes you want to download to your device and hit the download button on the top right corner to begin the download!
* Reading downloaded episodes does not use data.
Due to copyright restrictions, each episode can only be downloaded once per account. Downloaded episodes are stored on your device for up to 30 days.
You can manage your downloads on My Webtoons > Download.

How do I subscribe to my favorite webtoons? toggle
Select a webtoon and tap the (+Subscribe) button on the top right corner of the episode list.You’ll receive push notifications on your app whenever new episodes are updated.
* You can sync your subscriptions across devices by logging in with your Webtoon account.

How do I manage my Webtoons activity? toggle
Tap ‘MY’ at the bottom of the home screen on the Webtoon app to enter the ‘MY WEBTOONS’ page. There, you can see your read history, manage your subscriptions, check downloads, and view your comment activity.
You can also manage your subscriptions and comments on our website by logging in, then hovering the cursor over your username on the top right of the webpage. You will find ‘SUBSCRIBED’ and ‘COMMENTS’ in the hover menu.
* You can subscribe to a maximum of 100 Featured Webtoons and 100 Discover series. If you accidentally tapped the like button (♡) on any episode, tap it once more to undo your like.

How do I change my notifications settings? toggle
Tap ‘MORE’ on the bottom right of the home screen, and then tap ‘SETTINGS’ 
on the Webtoon app. You can change your push notification settings in the 'NOTIFICATIONS' menu. You can change your email notification settings in the ‘EMAIL’ menu.
You can also change your email notification settings on the Webtoon website (ACCOUNT > LOGIN INFORMATION). Log in to the website, then hover the cursor over your username on the top right of the webpage. You can find ‘Account’ in the hover menu.

I want to stop receiving the Webtoon newsletter emails. toggle
Newsletters are only sent if you logged in with your email address and have email notifications enabled. Tap ‘MORE’ on the bottom right of the home screen, and then tap ‘SETTINGS’. You can change your email notification settings in the ‘EMAIL’ menu.

How do I share webtoons on social media? toggle
Select any webtoon and tap the ‘Share’ icon on the top right of the episode list on the app 
(or a social media button on the website) to share the series.
If you want to share an individual episode you’re reading, tap any panel to show the top menu, tap the dropdown menu on the top right and you’ll find the ‘Share’ button.
If you want to share an individual episode while reading on our website, click any panel to show the top menu, then click the social media buttons located on the top right.

How do I change the app's display language? toggle
You can change the app’s display language in SETTINGS > OPTION > CONTENT LANGUAGE.Your read history, subscriptions, and downloads do not carry over to different display languages.
* Please note that most webtoons are unavailable in multiple languages.

If you experience trouble downloading the app, please check your network connection 
(Wi-Fi recommended), cancel or delete any download progress, then download our app again.You may be unable to download the app due to insufficient storage on your device.

1. Android Devices:
Please go to ‘Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names’ on your device,then tap the menu at the top right and ‘Reset to default’.

2. iPhones:
Please go to ‘Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network’ on your device, then tap ‘Reset Settings’.

First, please check whether you have Notifications enabled in the settings. Please check the type of push notifications you would like to receive. If you are using Sleep Mode, push notifications will not be sent during the time of your designation. Don't worry! You'll receive the push notifications later.

Additionally, you may not receive Webtoon push notifications properly if you have restricted app notification permissions in your device settings.

How do I start publishing on Webtoon? toggle
Currently, all of your Creator tools are on our desktop website. Our mobile app is primarily focused on the reader experience.
1. Click ‘PUBLISH’ to get started! (The ‘Publish’ button is only on the Webtoon desktop website in the top upper right corner.)
2. Register on our website
3. Click ‘Create Series’ and fill in your comic’s information
4. Upload your episode!

How do I save a draft? toggle
When you upload on Discover, you can save your episode as a draft or publish it immediately.
Saving it as a draft will upload your episode onto our server, but it will not be visible to your readers. You can only publish in the same order that the episodes were saved.

I keep getting a "Payment in progress" message. toggle
The “Payment in progress” message appears when you attempt to make a payment again while a payment is already in progress. If you attempt to make another payment before a previous payment is complete, the system automatically blocks any payments from being made. In such cases, please close the payment screen and try again after five minutes.

My Coin balance disappeared after switching my device. toggle
The Coin balance on your account is retrieved automatically if your new device runs on the same OS as your previous device. 

If you switch to a mobile device running on a different OS (e.g., Android to iOS, iOS to Android), your Coin balance on your previous device does not transfer automatically to your new device.

I can’t find Coins or webtoon episodess that I have purchased. toggle
If you can’t find Coins or webtoon episodes which you have purchased, please check whether any of the following situations apply:

1. You mistook reading a free episode as purchasing an episode 
Sometimes, our readers confuse reading a free webtoon episode with purchasing the episode. Please go to My Webtoons - [Coin Usage History] on the app and check whether you purchased the episode in question.
2. You logged in with a different account
Occasionally, our readers accidentally use a different login method (e.g., email, Facebook, Twitter, LINE) when logging in after a previous logout.  
Please try logging in to the correct account from which you made the purchases.
3. You experienced an app data refresh error after updating the app 
Your purchase history may not show correctly when app data is not updated properly. 
If you do not see your purchased Coins, please close the app completely, restart the app, and return to the [Purchase Coins] menu to check your balance. 
4.Android Coins are not interchangeable with iOS Coins. 
Coins are not interchangeable between Android and iOS due to platform providers' policies.

Our Ad Revenue Sharing Program is designed to provide a sustainable, participatory revenue stream for creators. Basically, we place ads in association with your series and share that ad revenue with you!
We do want to stay conscious of any inappropriate or intrusive ads.
If you do find any intrusive ads, please let us know by sending an email to [adsharing_help@webtoonscorp.com] with a screenshot of the ad.We’ll review your report and investigate the issue.

How can I join the Ad Revenue Sharing Program? toggle
Follow these easy steps to join the Ad Revenue Sharing Program:

1. You will find the ‘AD SHARING’ tab under ‘MY WEBTOON’ if you are publishing one or more series on your Webtoon account.

2. You can join the Ad Revenue Sharing Program by clicking the ‘JOIN’ button, selecting your creator type, and agreeing to the Ad Revenue Sharing Program Terms of Service.


3. Please make sure you read the Terms of Service thoroughly.

After joining the Ad Revenue Sharing Program, you may apply for Ad Display on each of your eligible series. Requirements for being eligible are: 

① Over 40,000 US Monthly Pageviews; AND

② Over 1,000 Total Subscribers

* Calculation of US monthly Pageviews and Total Subscribers are based on the last day of the previous month.  


Once your application is submitted, we will review your content and account activity for approval. 

This may take a few weeks! Please remember that Webtoon reserves the right to approve or disapprove any requested Ad Display. Status updates will be available under the ‘AD SHARING’ tab.

How long does the review take? toggle
Once you have been accepted to the Ad Revenue Sharing Program and have requested Ad Display for a particular series, you will be in our queue for review! This may take a few weeks. 
We want to secure a stable inflow of ads for all of our Creators. Thus, we need to conduct a comprehensive review of every comic with an Ad Display request to make sure that we create an advertiser friendly environment. 
We want to keep this program sustainable for everyone involved, and open the possibilities of more revenue in the future!
 
To prevent any delays in your application, we recommend reviewing our Discover Policy, Ad Revenue Sharing Program Terms of Service and our Ad partner’s guidelines (Google AdSense) as well.

How can I cancel my participation in the Ad Revenue Sharing Program? toggle
You can cancel Ad Display for any of your series, even ones that have been approved, at any time. You can also opt out of the Ad Revenue Sharing Program whenever you like.
 
However, if you cancel Ad Display for any of your series, or opt out, you will not receive payment for the balance that accrues after the date when you cancel or opt out.

Any balance in your account that is above $10 will be paid to you as long as you maintain a valid Patreon ID.

If you opt out voluntarily, you can always rejoin after 2 months from the date that you opt out. 
Please keep in mind that once you opt out, any previous records you had will be deleted completely and can’t be restored if you rejoin.

Any adult or mature content is highly likely to be inappropriate for the Ad Revenue Sharing Program.

When do content reviews take place? toggle
The content review takes place when you apply for Ad Display on your series. 
However, Webtoon also regularly reviews the content of qualified series to ensure that they continue to adhere to the content guidelines of the Ad Revenue Sharing Program.

What type of behavior is not allowed in the Ad Revenue Sharing Program? toggle
Webtoon will periodically check whether your content, or your use of the service, violates the Terms of Service or other policies. Please review section ‘5. Usage Restrictions’ in our Ad Revenue Sharing Terms of Service thoroughly so you can participate in the Ad Revenue Sharing Program without any restrictions.

Here are examples of actions that can lead to restriction or termination of your access to the service and/or participation in the Ad Revenue Sharing Program:

● Prohibited Actions
- Continuously and repeatedly clicking episodes or series by any means such as macro programs or manual clicks
- Altering or modifying information collected or provided by WEBTOON and/or NAVER for operating the Service and/or the Ad Revenue Sharing Program
- Failing to comply with the Agreement and/or these Terms
- Otherwise adversely affecting the operation of the Service and/or the Ad Revenue Sharing Program by other illegal or harmful means

● Invalid Clicks
- Continuously and repeatedly clicking Ad Displays, whether such Ad Displays are attached to your content or the content of other users;
- Including phrases, figures, images, etc. in your content which induce visitors to click Ad Displays on your content or the content of other users, such as "Click this ad", "Please help", "Click the link", etc.;
- Using email, messenger, text messaging, etc. to send messages requesting clicks; and/or
- Using robots, automated click and exposure-generating tools, automatic web browsing, click exchange programs, or any other illegal means to artificially generate clicks.

● Transferring Accounts
- You may not, and agree not to, share, provide, transfer, sell or resell access to your Account.

● Publishing Inappropriate Content
- You may not include any inappropriate content on your series. For a definition of
“inappropriate content” please check the question: ‘What type of content is allowed for the Ad Revenue Sharing Program?

● Malicious Actions against other users
- We foster an inclusive and friendly environment on Webtoon. You may not be malicious, abusive, threatening or demeaning towards any other users in the community. For example, actions like destructive criticism, cursing, stalking, impersonating, or invading someone else’s privacy may cause termination of your participation.

What happens if I violate the policies and/or terms? toggle
If we find that you’ve violated the Agreement or our Terms, we will notify you by email. 
We may suspend your Participation in the Ad Revenue Sharing Program. 
If your violation is severe enough, we may terminate your membership.

● Violation of Content Guidelines
If your series is inappropriate or violates any copyright law, your series or episodemay be taken off from public view. If your series has been taken off the website, Ad Display will also stop. If severe enough, we may also restrict further uploading and/or cancel your membership in the Ad Revenue Sharing Program.

● Violations of Ad Display Terms of Service

If we find that you have violated any of our terms through actions such as Invalid clicks, or any other prohibited technical acts, we may cancel any Ad Display on your series for two months or more. If the Ad Display on your series is cancelled, you will not receive any revenue gained during the cycle when your termination occurred.

● Suspension and Termination Your Account

If we find that your content violates any of our guidelines, Terms of Service, or policies, we may suspend or permanently terminate your participation in the Ad Revenue Sharing Program and terminate your account.
In that case, any balance you have in your account will be automatically forfeited and any series that has qualified for the Ad Revenue Sharing Program will be immediately cancelled.
If you are suspended, you can apply to rejoin the Ad Revenue Sharing Program after 2 months from the start of your suspension.

*Please keep in mind any of your previous records relating to our Ad Revenue Sharing Program and payments will be completely deleted and cannot be restored if your account is suspended or terminated.

How is the revenue calculated? toggle
We will share 50% of the net ad revenue with you!
The net ad revenue is the total amount received by Webtoon from a third party advertiser for ads that are displayed on registered series. 
There may be some operational costs, expenses, and fees that are paid to third parties.

How will payments be processed? toggle
When you join the Ad Revenue Sharing Program, you will be able to access the ‘AD SHARING’ tab on your profile. 
Your payment will be posted to your account on a monthly basis and updated on the 21st day of the following month.
When you reach the minimum threshold of $100, you will receive a payment by the 15th day of the following month in $100 increments.

For Example:
● You have a previous balance of $20 in your Account as of June 1.

- Scenario 1:
You earn $70 in Net Ad Revenue during the month of June. This amount will update on your dashboard on July 21st. Your balance will then be $90 on July 21st. 
(Previous balance $20 + June Net Ad Revenue of $70)
No payment will be made in July as your minimum did not reach $100. 
The $90 will carry over to August.

- Scenario 2:
You earn $110 in Net Ad Revenue during the month of June. This amount will update on your dashboard on July 21st. Your balance will then be $130 on July 21st. 
(Previous balance $20 + June Net Ad Revenue of $110). 
You will be paid $100 at the end of July and your Account will have a remaining balance of $30 which will carry over to August.

How can I collect revenue? toggle
Once you register a valid Patreon ID in the ‘AD SHARING’ tab, we will pay your Ad Revenue to your Patreon Account. 
Please be sure to input the correct Patreon ID, as we will not be able to recover anything that is paid incorrectly!
If you do not register a valid Patreon ID, payment will not be issued and your balance will continue to accrue.

Why am I not receiving payment even though there is a balance in my Account? toggle
The payment threshold is $100 dollars. If your balance is under the threshold amount, it will not be paid out and will carry over to the next month.
If your balance is $100 or more, please make sure you have registered a valid Patreon ID in the ‘AD SHARING’ tab. 
If your balance is $100 or more and you have registered a valid Patreon ID, please check your email inbox or your series’ status in the ‘AD SHARING’ tab to confirm if you have been restricted from the Ad Revenue Sharing Program. 
If you have been restricted, or your Ad Sharing has been cancelled, you will not receive your balance.

How do I handle taxes? toggle
Any payments that are made to you through our Ad Revenue Sharing Program will be taxed according to the tax laws where you reside. 
If there are any taxes associated with the payments you receive, you will need to make sure to file and pay the respective taxes.
We recommend that you reach out to a tax professional in your area if you have any questions.

How can I split my share with my co-creators? toggle
If there are two or more Creators behind one series, the Creator who uploads the series will be responsible for distributing the Ad Revenue according to any agreements the Creators have. 
Webtoon does not have any responsibilities to arbitrate any disagreements between Creators.
