Coins

What are Coins? toggle
Coins are used to purchase songs in LINE MUSIC.
Important: Please keep in mind that Coins cannot be transferred if you change to a device running a different OS. You can only use Coins with the OS of the device they were purchased with.

Purchasing Coins toggle
You can purchase Coins in the LINE MUSIC app.
Note: We plan to make Coins available for purchase on the web version in the near future.

To buy Coins: 
1. Tap Library > Settings > My Coins.
2. Tap PURCHASE on the top of the screen.
3. Choose the amount of Coins to purchase.
Note: With iOS devices payments are made through the App Store.

Checking your Coin balance toggle
To check your Coin balance: 
1. Tap Library > Settings > My Coins.
2. Check the number of Coins on the top of the screen.

The number of Coins displayed includes the Coins you purchased and any Bonus Coins you have. You can see your purchased Coins and Bonus Coins separately beneath the total Coin balance.

Do Coins have an expiration date? toggle
The Coins you purchase do not expire.

Bonus Coins are valid for 180 days from the last day you purchased Coins or received Bonus Coins. Please be aware that Bonus Coins can no longer be used after the 180 days has passed.

What are Bonus Coins? toggle
Bonus Coins are extra coins you can get by participating in special events on LINE MUSIC. If you have both purchased Coins and Bonus Coins in your Coin balance, the purchased Coins will be used first for payments.

How to get Bonus Coins toggle

You can get Bonus Coins by participating in special events held on LINE MUSIC.

 

To check what special events are being held: 

1. Tap Library > Settings.

2. Tap Notices under Other.

I want to transfer my Coins to a device with a different OS toggle
Coins purchased with an Apple ID and Bonus Coins received on an iOS device cannot be transferred to an Android device. We recommend using all of your Coins before transferring your account to a device with a different OS.

What can I purchase with Coins? toggle
You can use Coins to purchase songs and albums in LINE MUSIC.
Note: Some songs and albums may not be available for purchase.

Can guest users also purchase Coins? toggle
Yes, guest users can purchase Coins as well as songs. However, you may not be able to restore your Coin balance or purchased songs if you change devices or log in to LINE.

We recommend making purchases after logging in to LINE.

Can I transfer my Coins and purchased music to another LINE account? toggle
If you want to transfer your Coins and purchased music to another LINE account, please contact us from the Inquiry Form.
Important: Please keep in mind that you will not be able to transfer your Coins if you change to a device running an OS that is different from the one you purchased them with.

Purchasing Music

Songs purchased with Coins toggle
When you purchase songs you can enjoy them anytime until you stop using LINE MUSIC, and you can listen to them offline, even if you don't have a ticket or aren't connected to a network. You can also set them as your ringtone on LINE.

The bit rate for purchased songs is 320 kbps.

Can I play songs purchased on LINE MUSIC with other apps? toggle
Yes, you can play songs purchased on LINE MUSIC with apps like Windows Media Player or iTunes after exporting them as files.

How to purchase songs toggle
To purchase songs:
1. Tap  to the right of the song you want to purchase.
2. Tap the green icon that shows the price.
3. Tap Purchase.
4. After the payment is completed, tap OK on the pop-up.
Note: This step will be skipped if the Auto Download Purchased Songs option is turned ON.

Once a song is downloaded, you can play it without being connected to a network.

How to purchase albums toggle
To purchase albums:
1. Tap the album you want to purchase.
2. Tap the price that appears at the top of the screen.
3. Tap Purchase.
4. After the payment is completed, tap OK on the pop-up.
Note: This step will be skipped if the Auto Download Purchased Songs option is turned ON.

Once an album is downloaded, you'll be able to play it without being connected to a network.

To see your purchase history: 
1. Tap Library.
2. Tap Settings > Purchased Music.
3. Tap Purchase History.

How do I re-download purchased music I've deleted? toggle
Purchased music is linked to your LINE account and will remain in your purchase history, even if you delete a song.

You can view all of your songs and albums with the steps below and re-download them any time you like.

1. Tap Library > Settings.
2. Tap Purchased Music.
3. Tap Purchase History.

Transferring your purchased music to another device toggle

To transfer your purchased music: 

1. Tap Library > Settings Purchased Music > Purchase History.

2. Save all of your songs and albums.

Note: Make sure everything was saved by going to Library Downloads.

3. Connect your smartphone to your PC.

4. In iTunes, click the smartphone icon > File Sharing (under Settings).

5. From LINE MUSIC Documents, select the "purchased music" folder > click Save To.

6. Save the folder you selected in step 5 in the appropriate location on your PC.

 

After saving the folder, you’ll be able to move your purchased music files to another device.
