LINE Touch

You can use LINE Touch with verified accounts in Japan. The LINE Official Account smartphone app is required to register NFC tags to your account. Also, NFC tags need to be purchased from the LINE Touch section of LINE Official Account Manager for web browsers.

To direct users to content by having them scan an NFC tag, a smartphone that has NFC reading capability is required. Devices that can read NFC tags are as follows:
• iPhone: Models released in 2018 (iPhone XS/XR) and later.
• Android: Various models currently on the market (some models do not have NFC reading capability).
Note: On Android devices, you need to turn on the NFC reading feature.

Users that can't use the NFC reading feature can scan the QR code printed on the NFC tag.

You can configure multiple NFC tags that are already registered to your LINE official account by using the batch edit feature.

However, registering NFC tags to a LINE official account requires scanning each tag individually with the camera in the LINE Official Account smartphone app, so batch registration is not supported.

The response distance between an NFC tag and a smartphone is about 2 to 5 cm.

You can link a different action to an NFC tag. However, once an action has been created, you cannot change it into a different action.

Allowed:
• Change the URL of a LINE MINI App action.

Not allowed:
• Change an action from Show profile to Launch a LINE MINI App.

If you want to change the action type, create a new action or link a different one.

You can delete a registered NFC tag from LINE Official Account Manager.

A deleted NFC tag can be registered again, including to a different LINE official account. However, to prevent misuse, providing NFC tags to third parties is prohibited.

If an NFC tag's QR code does not scan properly, it may be due to the following reasons.

The QR code is not for a LINE Touch NFC tag
Scanning the QR code will not work. Make sure you are scanning the QR code printed on the LINE Touch NFC tag.

The NFC tag is invalid
An error message will appear. The tag may already be registered to another LINE official account, or the NFC tag may be invalid. Check that the NFC tag is valid and available for use.

Camera-related scanning issues
Depending on your camera performance or environment, the QR code may not scan properly. Adjust the distance between the QR code and the camera, or try scanning with a different device.
